The beginning of a new year offers a welcome opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments and lessons from the prior year – not as a self-indulgent exercise, but rather to appreciate the momentum built and illuminate the path ahead.

2018 was indeed an exciting year of growth for Dominion Payroll. Landing on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing companies for the ninth consecutive year – something only 1% of nominated companies ever attain – was a tremendous honor. With Dominion Payroll’s February expansion into Dallas and the continued growth of our Tampa, Nashville, and Charlotte offices, 2019 is poised to be a gangbuster year bringing our unique commitment to service and community to ever more clients nationwide

None of this growth would be possible, of course, without the dedication of the finest workforce in the industry. In 2018, just three years after being recognized by ChamberRVA as the top workplace for young professionals in the small business category, we again took home this distinguished recognition, only this time in the large business category.

Dominion Payroll’s commitment to its employees is second-to-none and will continue to flourish in the coming year. In concert with many of our community partners, 2018 saw the advent of our Working on Wellness committee bringing physical, mental, and financial health programming to our staff on a monthly basis. From social events and company-wide weekly lunches to local race and recreation league registration, Dominion Payroll fully embraces the idea that everyone who works here is part of the family. In 2019 we are excited to expand our existing mindfulness programming to include in-office yoga lessons free to all staff!

As an organization driven to better the communities we call home, Dominion Payroll employees gave over 100 volunteer hours in 2018 to benefit organizations such as Feed More of Central Virginia, Junior League of Tampa, and Nashville CARES just to name a few. In support of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, in October our Richmond office was proud (dare I say enthused?) to whipped-cream-pie our executive leadership team in the face in an effort that raised nearly $2,000. Additionally, on Earth Day our team helped to collect a half ton of garbage from Gillies Creek Park in Richmond’s East End.

Through sponsorships, philanthropy, and in-kind donations, Dominion Payroll made a tremendous positive impact on our community in 2018. We moved up nine spots in Richmond BizSense’s Annual Generosity Awards to number 20 in the region with annual giving topping $34,000. Through professional and in-kind relationships, Dominion Payroll is proud to support the efforts of select charities and non-profits throughout the country including the Autism Society of Central Virginia and the Jewish Community Center of Richmond to name a few.

Throughout 2018 Dominion Payroll enthusiastically made our community room available to clients and non-profit partners throughout Richmond hosting hundreds of events in support of great causes and missions. 2019 promises to be another busy year providing a home for the creative spark of community and innovation to come to life.

In November 2018, Dominion Payroll received one of the greatest honors we could imagine in the form of the ChamberRVA IMPACT Award. A culmination of so many of the above efforts – our commitment to the lives of our employees, an outsized impact on our local economy, and a dedicated stewardship of our community – this award serves as a tremendous reminder that the work is never done. In service to this mission, we greet the new year eager to exceed the expectations of our valued clients, support and grow our work-family, and foster the community we love.
