The Dominion Payroll team gathered on a cold January Sunday for 8-on-8, co-ed touch football games benefiting the Richmond SPCA. The DP team, outfitted in away grey jerseys, came ready to play. With Joe LaBella anchoring the QB spot, the Spartans marched down the field scoring on the first possession! The grey team took advantage with speed and clutch catches by Sullivan(s), Lehto, Crouch, Fetzer, Shacklette, Redfearn, Smartt and Avalos to go on to victory beating the “Ol’ Dirty Bastards” team 36-12. After a brief break the team was back out to face down our next opponent “Abusement Park”. Defense was key in this match with key pass breakups by LaBella and Lehto. Fetzer provided a fierce rush pressuring their passer all day and the ladies covered the secondary well. The teams battled back and forth going score for score in the first half. By second half with both teams exhausted, the Spartans were only able to ramble in for one score and lost 31-23.
It was a great day for our Dominion Payroll team and it all benefited a great cause (Richmond SPCA). We hope to do it again! The Dominion Payroll team was well represented with team members: Vince Parrot (coach), Nick Lehto, Ashley Smartt, Lindsay Shacklette, Joe LaBella, Brad Crouch, Ashley Sullivan, Dan Sullivan, Tori Avalos, Cameron Redfearn and Ken Fetzer.
