As we conclude another successful year of our summer college internship program, we’re thrilled to showcase our recent intern class's remarkable impact during their 30-day intensive program.
Our month-long internship is built on the foundation of design thinking, providing our interns with a unique opportunity to develop critical business skills while tackling real-world challenges.
Susan Nixon, our Culture Specialist, noted,
“Each year, our interns impress us with their innovative spirits. They truly embody the future of a dynamic workforce.”
This year’s cohorts exemplified this spirit by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI, to excel in their assignments.
Our four exceptional interns made significant contributions across various departments:
Abby Kupstas explored AI technologies to enhance customer experience in Key Account and Client Experience departments.
Conner Parker designed an innovative bot for our Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), to streamline access to crucial data and resources.
Jasmine Pierce conducted in-depth client data analysis, identifying key industries for targeted marketing campaigns.
Adam Ruehle applied advanced coding skills to improve back-office efficiencies, ensuring top-tier service for our clients.
To wrap up their projects, our interns delivered compelling presentations to the entire company, showcasing their innovative solutions and demonstrating the significant impact of their findings on Dominion Payroll’s operations and client services. These presentations not only highlighted our interns’ analytical skills and creativity but also provided valuable insights that could potentially reshape our business strategies and enhance our service.
Robin Ransom, Dominion Payroll COO / CFO, had this to say about their project,
"Wow what an innovative class of interns, showcasing AI tools they built and researched while demonstrating one of our core values of Creating a Culture of learning, understanding and growth. Amazing job Interns!"
Our internship program goes beyond project work, offering opportunities for professional and career development. We provide a range of experiences and opportunities designed to prepare our interns for successful careers:

Resume Crafting: Our HR team conducted an in-depth resume workshop, helping our interns refine their professional profiles to stand out in today’s competitive market.
Mock Interviews: Interns participated in simulated job interviews, receiving constructive feedback to improve their interview skills and boost confidence.
Cover Letter Writing: We provided a guided session on crafting compelling cover letters that effectively communicate skills and aspirations.

Looking Ahead: Continued Growth and Opportunity
This special class of interns made a lasting impression on many at Dominion Payroll. We are all very excited to witness their continued growth and success for many years to come.
Shayna Cooke, VP of Human Capital, emphasized the value our interns bring:
“Every year, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our interns, who bring a burst of innovation and excitement to our company. With their fresh perspectives and eagerness to challenge the status quo, they inspire us to view our projects and problems through a new lens. This invaluable influx of fresh ideas encourages us to explore new paths and consider innovative solutions we might not have otherwise. Their contributions have invigorated our team and helped significantly advance our journey of continuous improvement."
