The skies may have been a little gray in Richmond, VA on Saturday, September 7th, but there was an unmistakable electricity in the air. It was SpeakUp5k day - and the atmosphere was alive with excitement, love, community, pure joy and sunshine.
Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation (CKG) hosted its 11th annual SpeakUp5k in the heart of Virginia and virtually across the country. CKG's mission is to fulfill Cameron’s dream and legacy by being a positive force that works to cultivate awareness and understanding of teenage depression and anxiety. Through year-long events, ongoing work in schools and, of course, the big SpeakUp race, CKG works hard to bring their mission to life.
And it is truly incredible to witness Cameron's dream come alive.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, including the 200+ volunteers and thousands of participants—whether in Richmond, Virginia, or virtually across the country—who walked, ran, and supported one another. Your strength and willingness to break down the stigma surrounding mental health are truly inspiring. We are proud to stand with you in creating a more compassionate and understanding world.
